Vintage art pottery jug with working music box. When lifted, the music box plays "How Dry I Am." PLEASE ask questions before offerding.I am not sure, but I believe this is Fulper. I found two other jugs with the exact same shape on the internet that are attributed to Fulper. If you send me an message I will send you the links. There are no maker's marks. I looked under the wooden music box base, there are no marks there.
Has the remnants of a Sprague music box company decal as shown in the last picture -- I have included two other Sprague decal images in the picture for comparison. The complete decal originally read:
SAY IT WITH
MUSIC
SPRAGUENEW YORKDO NOTOVERWIND
Has a nice micro-crystalline glaze. There are some factory glaze faults as shown in the detail pictures. Otherwise completely free of cracks, chips, or damage.NOTE: It is my belief that the pottery and the music box are both probably approximately 100 years old. The music box workings are old and fragile. Returns will not be accepted if there is evidence that the wooden music box base has been removed from the jug or tampered with. Will be shipped by FedEx or USPS.
I ship fast and I pack carefully.
