On the back penciled "Ruth St. Denis, Dance Artiste, Belasco Theatre, two special matinees - Thursday and Friday January 13 & 14."This is perhaps an early performance of THE LIGHT OF ASIA, which she later had a Broadway run in the late 20s with.She co-founded (with husband Ted Shawn) the Denishawn School of Dancing.VINTAGE images of Ruth St. Denis are scarce. There are two chips on the left side of the photo. One is at the bottom left corner, the other is mid-way up on the left side. Both of these do not interfere with the image in any way. Condition is VERY GOOD.
