A little History and Information:This Remington No. 12, appeared on the market in November of 1922. The Remington no. 12 embodies every Remington advantage, plus quiet action. Fourteen noise reducing features were introduced. The No. 12 has an improved escapement, type bar construction, ribbon mechanism and refinements of construction throughout the entire machine. It also has the frame enclosed to keep out dust and dirt.

Typewriter Restoration:Unless otherwise noted, all of our vintage typewriters have been restored to their “as designed mechanical condition”. I have been a professional typewriter repair technician for 13 years. Each machine is cleaned, oiled and mechanically adjusted and reppropriate. Our machines are meticulously tested and fully functional when shipped. All parts are original unless otherwise stated. Some damaged original parts may be replaced by parts from identical typewriters or new reproduction parts, if needed.

Mechanical and Cosmetic Disposition:Thank you for considering thisusedantique machine that has been around for \"94 years\".For yourreassurance we alwaysdescribe our machines meticulously,no matter how small the details.This is a great antique machine and we want you to know there are a few things about the machine that you should be aware of.
Note: I will never say that this machine or any machine this old is completely original as it has most likely been worked on in the past, some parts may have been replaced in order for it to function as designed.
This refurbished machine has a New hand painted finish. The machine after sanding and cleaning received seven coats of hard durable enamel. The paper tray was left untouched in its original condition, and still displays its original decals and paint. The old keys reveal years of use as there are minor surface fractures in Mylar type keys that adds much character to this old machine. There is minor wear and pitting on some of the non-painted metal surfaces. The platen Roll now has a new surface. This machine is mechanically sound and works as designed. We also installed a new Black and Red ribbon on the machine.Overall, this machinefor being around for 94 years,is a beautiful example of the Remington 12 Correspondence model.

ThisRemington No. 12 was given the Serial Number LS 50042.
The mechanics have beenmeticulouslytested and will be tested again before we package the machine for shipment.
