Vintage Pre Griswold ERIE No 10 Cast Iron Chuckwagon Cover Restored Condition For Sale

This is avintage pre Griswold ERIE No 10 chuckwagon cover that dates to the early 1900s. These old covers are very hard to locatein any condition as they could easily get bumped off the pot and get cracked orreceive a large chip. The top of the cover has effects from corrosion andthe inside surface is in very good condition. Overall,the condition is not bad for being 120+ years old. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.

The item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approvedlye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of allresidue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightlyseasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographedin very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lightingconditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normallight.
