Vintage Patricia Pat Hopper Ceramic Angel Candleholder Fresno CA Artist 1984. 9.5” tall

There does appear to be a repair to one wing. Not super noticeable but worth noting. Artist is from Fresno, CA and quite renowned for her work within the community.

As a young housewife, Pat began to pursue her love of art and painting. In 1961, she was selected to be the designer of Storyland in Roeding Park. This was the start of Pat's career as a commercial artist. In the mid 1960's, she began to work in ceramic sculpture and would continue to do so for the next 50 years. She created everything imaginable out of clay including fountains, fireplaces, garden sculpture, and wall plaques. Pat's work graces homes and commercial buildings throughout California. She also started a production company, creating pieces in moulds, such as rabbit candlesticks and flying pigs. These pieces were sold throughout the United States. Pat was also asked to join the faculty of the Art Department at Fresno State. She loved teaching design to college students and worked there for several years.
