Listed here is an antique Yankee ratcheting screwdriver made by North Brothers Mfg in Philadelphia. It was first patented in 1895, with the final patent in 1923. It is about 25.5 inches long when open and 17 inches closed. This model doesn\'t have a spring to make it automatically open. According to our research, North Brothers was one of, if not the first large scale manufacturer of ratcheting screwdrivers and coined the trade name, Yankee Screwdriver. Stanley bought the name in the 1940\'s. It is in good working condition with the usually nicks and dings of a used antique tool. This one comes with a slotted screwdriver bit.
