A stunning Czech glass optical mould blown vase with a coloured olives design called \'Nemo\'. Made by the Crystalex glassworks (formerly Borske Sklo) in the 1970\'s, and designed by Max Kannegiesser.Vintage Nemo Borske Sklo Max Kannegiesser Czech Optical Dot Glass Ball Vase - 9\" tallPreowned, Excellent conditionIn 1963 Max Kannegeisser won an annual competition, for the best glass design of the year, held in Czechoslovakia. The prize was that the design would go into production. This is the design and it was named \'Nemo\'.The items were made in four part moulds which created raised circular or ovoid shapes on the surface. As you can see the shape of the bowl/vase dictated the shape of the raised areas. Randomly some were painted.....This design was a runaway success and in its first year over 40,000 decorative and functional pieces were made and exported.Features:
