Vintage Native American ROBERT VIGIL (1965-) Nambe Pueblo Pottery TURTLE FIGURE For Sale

For sale as a vintage turtle figure by Native American potter Robert Vigil. Vigil was born in 1965 and he is Nambe Pueblo. He works in micacious pottery, and this is no exception. This figure is in the shape of a turtle. It is approximately 4 1/2“ x 2 1/2“ x 2”. I really admire this piece. Vigil is known for his simple, yet elegant work, and this turtle is very simple, but also extremely stylish and almost modernist in some aspects. It’s rounded head and feet and grooved shell makes it a really aesthetically pleasing design. The underside of the piece is signed in cursive “Robert Vigil Nambe”. It’s in really nice condition with no chips or cracks. I think it’s from the 80s to early 90s, it came from a local estate where the previous owners traveled around that time in the southwest. It would be an excellent addition to any collection!
