Vintage Mid-Century Singer Model 237 BZB- 60-8 Sewing Machine CRAFTED in FRANCE For Sale

This Offering is for One (1) Mid-Century Modern Singer portable sewing machine.
Obviously this Model # 237 {BKB-60.8} is PreOwned & it’s condition Is commensurate with its age.
We purchased a new belt & that was installed.

There are little to no scratches on the machine, (looks like anormal wear machine).

• When pedal is depressed the mechanism that would hold the needle (needle missing) does go up and down.
• This Singer Machine Just had a good cleaning, (see Repair shop label in multiple pic’s)
• Upon Depressing the brown Pedal (that makes the machine Go/function) it did function.
• The stitch Width Lever Probably should probably could be replaced. (See pic # 5) yet is usable without replacement.
• Doesn't Come with any accessories…(except the brown Pedal to make the speed of the machine go)
• The color in the pictures are a little off from the true color of Off-Whitish.

This is one of the last all metal Singers, being made in Italy from1967 to 1971(this one is 1971 production). It was sold as a mid priced or budget alternative to the more expensive models, but out of the box it already has straight stitch, zig-zag, and the feed dogs can be dropped for free hand sewing if wanted.

If you're looking for a good all purpose budget vintage sewing machine this model should be near the top of your list.It should have no problems sewing up things like stuff sacks, tarps.

For most there's no need for more stitches than what this machine can produce, and if you're reasonably confident with hand tools it's easy to work on and adjust.

What's good?

• Zig-zag and straight stitch.

• Very fine zig-zag stitch can be used to produce high quality satin stitching for bar tacks.

• Feed dogs can be dropped and/or adjusted.

• Hem guide built into needle plate.

• Uses common 15x1 needles and low shank presser feet.
