Vintage souvenir picture frame from the Bon Marche department store in Asheville North Carolina. It is crafted from silver metal. Inside are a photo postcard and a train ticker stub from the 1930s.
Bon Marche was in operation from 1889 until 1980. They had various locations that included the site of the current Kress Building, the current Haywood Park Hotel building, 33 Haywood St, Westgate Shopping Center and the Asheville Mall.
This frame measures about 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.
The bottom corner needs a repair. This appears to be a simple matter of applying epoxy or spot welding, but I am allowing the buyer to make the choice as to how to repair it. There is also discoloration of the glass and wear to the metal from age. Sold as-is.
