Vintage Marx DC-4 Pressed Steel Airplane \"Skymaster\" C-54 MATS (Candy Bomber) For Sale

Vintage Marx Large pressed steel airplane. After WWII ended manufactures were once again allowed to use metal that was dedicated to the war effort. Marx came out with a series of toys using heavy pressed steel. Built to last, very robust and nicely detailed, props spin, wheels turn.The Skymaster C-54 was called on by MATS (Material Air Transport Service) to transport troops and materials during WWII and the Berlin Crisis and was nicknamed the \"Candy Bomber\" by Berliners. The livery is based on aircraft that flew missions during that time, note the Atlantic Division on the tail assembly. The C-54 is a modified Douglas DC-4 aircraft that can range 3000 miles. Includes Pilots cockpit ladder and wall hanger.A rare and very collectable toy by an outstanding toy maker. The airplane comes disassembled but is easy to put together. This is a custom rebuild and a one of a kind creation.
Note: These airplanes by Marx are quite large and tend to be hard to display so I have modified the nose wheel assembly to accept a hanger I created that would allow the buyer to display the airplane securely on a wall (see pictures).
