This tool comes in basically as found condition. I’ve given it a light cleaning and rub down with oil to maintain appearance. I’m no carpenter but I tested it on a 2x4 and it works as intended. This tool was part of a larger collection purchased at sale so I’m not familiar with its history than the other tools in the lot seem to come from a bygone era, a classic example of an old man with old tools.
The condition is vintage/rustic with general aging and patina present, the handles are cracked in places but the tool feels good in the hands. The tool remains usable and collectable.
