For Your Vintage Match Holder This is an old, possibly circa mid 1900s or a bit earlier, cast iron hanging match holder. The match holder is in the shape of an urn or planter with leaves behind it. It has match strikers flanking the urn with rough surface to ensure the matches would light. The top of the match holder has a hole to allow the match holder to be hung. The back of the match-holder is flat and is stamped with the number 5. The urn itself is attached to the back plate with a screw. The piece is unpainted and shows considerable rust signs. Date: Uncertain but most likely mid 1900s (Mid 20th century) or possibly a bit earlier.

Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The match holder measures ~6\" by ~3 3/16\" and extends outwards ~1\", while the urn itself measures ~2 1/2\" by ~2\" at its widest. The entire piece weighs about 9 ounces.

Maker: Unknown.

Marks: Has the number 5 stamped on the back.
