Vintage LargeHand Coiled Pottery Jar with Excellent Patinaby Tarahumara Indians in Mexico, Mid-1900sSize 11.5" x 12"
The Pot was used for cooking, contains gold and silver flakes from the ground. Food (their staple diet of beans, flour, corn and peppers) placed in the pot is rotated close to the fire so the food can be evenly cooked. The tribe continues to use this earthenware till this day and very much like their ancestors.
