This is a vintage German wooden incense smoker of a man in a green coat and top hat, featuring coat buttons and polka dots. Handmade and standing at 5\" tall, it is a part of the German incense burner collection known as Rauchermann. The smoker comes with a hat and is an original piece. It weighs 3 oz. This holiday-themed folk art piece is perfect for all occasions and is a great addition to any collection.Historically these were made as early as 1850 in Germany. I do not know the origins of this piece. It is part of the Ore Mountains Christmas Tradition. Research indicates many people light incense on the last day of Christmas to celebrate the gifts of the wise men.. These were hand carved from a single piece of wood.
