Vintage Craftsman No. 5160 3\" Swivel Base Vise - Dated Nov. 1946 EXCELLENT For Sale

70 + years old but you sure can\'t tell it ! This high quality vise was made for Craftsman by Rock Island and it\'s dated 11-46 ! This is an industrial grade vise like nearly all that were made back then. You will not find a 3\" vise made today this heavy or well made. This beauty was completely restored with no detail over looked. The jaws are like new and the action is one finger smooth! One feature I really like about these old Craftsman ( Rock Island) vise\'s is the handle has a break inside the knob so where ever you leave the handle it will stay put. It will not drop like a Wilton so there\'s no need for rubber washers on the handle. The baked on finish is a hammered bronze with a crystal clear coat finish. I think if Sears was still selling this kind of quality they wouldn\'t be going out of business. It\'s really sad to see one of the best toll suppliers going down like this. Well this great vise will be a part of there legacy for a very long time , life times! Already 70 years old it easily has another 100 years in it.
