Collection of 30 Signed Photographs of Movie Stars of the 1920-30s. Offered is a once in life time opportunity to obtain a collection of famous male and female movie stars from the beginning of the golden age of cinema. This is the 1924 book, Stars of the Photoplay-Art Portraits of Famous Film Favorites with Short Biographical Sketches, Published by Photoplay Magazine Chicago. This hard bound book measures approx. 8x11 and EACH page has the B&W studio photograph of a movie actor or actress from this period and below it is a short biography of their lives an performances up to that date. There are over 250 photographs contained in the book of which 30 have been authentically autographed below their image in bold black fountain ink from that period. Some have inscribed to the owner also. All the signatures are beautiful.

CONDITION- Overall the book is in very good condition, the binding is removed with the edges and cover scuffed. There has been some water damage to about one inch at the bottom causing some yellowing, BUT NONE OF WHICH EFFECTS THE PHOTOGRAPHS OR WRITING. SEE PICTURES PROVENANCE: The book was purchased at an estate sale of the family of Mary M. Broderick who was an extra in many early movies and made friends with many of the stars. She carried this book with her where she obtained the autographs, some of which are inscribed to her. Include with this item will be two photographs identifying Mary, one is an original sepia still in a Wallace Beery movie picturing Mary in the background.

NOTE to COLLECTORS and DEALERS: I do not at this point have the heart to remove these items from the book and sell them individually. If you purchase the book you can easily remove them and frame them individually as signed photographs. I have researched the prices of these actors and actress individually some of which are so RARE there are no known examples, but individually the prices of these autographed photographs are in excess of $5,000
