Wonderful and complete Joseph Lucas Bicycle lamp, date stamped 1918, Made in Birmingham, England. This is an early Silverking Model. The name plate is slightly different to the later versions, which became more commercial.
A standout item which is clean and has been loved. It has a silverglow and some brasswhere the chrome has eased over time. A unique fade and patina. No ingrain rust at all.Lamp bracket, reflective mirror, knobs and switches are all free and in perfect working order. All original, however I cannot confirm whether the oil screw on the outside of the unit is factory as its different to similar lamp models currently in the collection. The screw does its job. No visible cracks or scratches to the front lens. Green and red reflector on either side. No yesteryear repairs.
Condition wise: Has been on display, in a London shop for the past 30 yrs (we are also selling other items/see my other listings). Solid item, no loose bits and made of mainly steel and Nickel. It does work, however many people convert these to LED and this should be easier based on this one\'s condition. Some collectors paint them black or racing green. Alternatively, this is a great example for a showcase display. If you need more info or pics, simply get in touch.
