This beauty is a late 18th - early 19th century hand crafted and hand painted Thai Benjarong stemmed bowl.
It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing.

Benjarong is a special kind of design on porcelain wares in Thailand. The word “Benjarong” literally means “five colors”. the five primary colors; black, yellow, red, green, and white are the five colors used for designing these porcelains and they are mixed to create secondary colors for the design.
This bowl is painted in exactly the 5 primary colors used in Benjarong painting. This bowl isn't as extravagantly painted as some I've seen. Many of these bowls leave very little of the white porcelain showing. There is no gold used in this bowl.
The entire stem is painted, then the artist left a band of white, and then painted up to the lip, including the underside of the lip. The painting continues in the lip and then part way down the interior of the bowl. The center of the bowl has a beautiful medallion in the same colors.
