Vintage AUGUST KRAUS Sitzendes Kind Sitting Child DEUTSCHER German Sculpture For Sale

This is a vintage August Kraus sculpture called Sitting Child. It is mounted on a small square of stone that appears to be marble. There is a paper card that is pictured above in German that comes with the sculpture. It says, 'Originalarbelt,' which translates to 'Original.' Next it says 'Sitzendes Kind,' which means 'Sitting Child.' The initial 'v.' translates to 'by.' And the red writing beneath is from a Berlin Art Association. The sculpture is a heavy metal, possibly bronze. The piece measures 3 1/4 inches tall on the marble. The diameter of the marble is 2 1/8 of an inch both ways.August Kraus was a sculptor who was born and lived in Germany who worked there and belonged to and was president of the Berlin Academy and between 1914 and 1920,and was director of the Rausch Museum.
