• The map opens to 20" x 27" and has greatdetail on old highway alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally.
• Thereare inset plans of Grand Island, Lincoln, and Omaha-Council Bluffs.
• The map was distributed by the Standard Oil Company ofNebraska topromote its Red Crown, Blue Crown, and White Crown gasolines and itsPermalube, Iso-Vis, and Polarine motor oils.
• The cover artwork shows twoStandard service station signs, with prominence given to its new ovalsign withflaming torch, which was replacing the other sign. Text on the backcover describes the change in format.
• The map was published in 1947 and is dated by the codenumber in thelower margin: 7-463609. Population data is from the 1940census.
• Condition: This map is in very good condition,with a faint smudge in theupper corner, tiny breaks on a couple of fold corners, and nomarks, rips, or tears. Be sure to take a look at the scans and feelfree to ask any questions.
• The Standard Oil Company of Nebraska was an independentcompanythat operated only in the State of Nebraska, but it was supplied by theStandardOil Company of Indiana, whose territory covered 14 Midwestern statesthat surrounded Nebraska.
