Japan Chocolate Pot Antique Japanese Kutani Tea Coffee Pot Chinoiserie missing lid could be repurposed.
This is a beautiful Japanese Kutani porcelain "chocolate" pot, signed in red on the bottom. This chocolate pot can and may have been be used for tea or coffee. I am not sure when it was produced.
Chocolate pot, but it has versatility and it's original function may have been The designs are rich and vibrant. The patterning is fascinating. The cameos are classic.
Chinoiserie refers to Asian made for the European market.
Kutani refers to Japanese porcelain made in Kaga province (now in Ishikawa prefecture).
The pot is 9 ¾” high to the top of the finial, and 6 ½” wide from spout-to-handle.
Condition: good. There are no nicks, chips, cracks.
