Large Vintage Pepsi Speedometer Style Metal Sign Thermometer c. 1965
Heavy ARMCO metal sign and frame(Yellow frame has been painted black)

Very few of these large speedometer style thermometers existusually found at drag strips and racetracks for drivers, fansand mechanics to see the outside temperature easily as it isdirectly related to performance and adjustments.
This one traveled from a drag strip in the Los Angeles areato one in Virginia and ultimately into a collection in Florida.
Clear plastic has some hazing and scuffs but not enough tostop the blue and red colors to clearly stand out.
Original yellow frame has been hand painted black, much of theyellow is still visible and easily repainted/reapplied.
The thermometer appears to work fine atleast pre-shipping andhere in Florida as it is ranging between 70 and 90 throughout the day.
Back side of sign shows rust colored discoloration. No rust holesjust staining surface. Main piece of metal is galvanizedand has the ARMCO (American Rolling Mill Company) steel stamp.
There are two old hanging mounts on back. Overall has scuffsand wear expected for age, environment, weather and exposure.
Very hard to find size and style. Not many of these made.Imagine the 60\'s and 70\'s era dragsters, spectators, sightsand sounds this thermometer represents! An excellent additionto any sign, automotive or Pepsi collection!
Shipping will require the custom marriage of several brand newheavy duty boxes and curshioning material; labor intensive and notcheap but helps ensure as-pictured delivery instead of cheap cornercutting shipping and damaging history!
