Rare very old compass plane. The chip guard has: L. BAILEY\'S PATENT DEC. 24, 1867 is written on the piece that holds the blade. W. BUTCHER. ENGLAND. Also has an arrow and a cross with the end of the arrow being a circle with what looks like a B inside. The back and front adjustments for the spring bottom are brass. The soul of the plane is about 10 1/8 inches by about 2 1/4 inches at the widest point -- center. Has ten screws, five on each side of the chip guard port.

This tool appears to be in good used working condition. We took the pieces apart for pictures and shipping.
