Offered for your consideration is a large handwovenZapotec Indian area rug or blanket, measuring approximately 81\" x 57\",not counting the fringes. It is made of 100% hand spun wool and colored withnatural dyes. Both warp and weft are wool, as evidenced by the 3 to 4-inch-longwool fringe. This rug is a warm blend of earth colors: cream, ochre, beige, andbrown, with tiny gray accents. It is completely reversible and was woven on a backstrap loom. It was made in the indigenous village of Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico, and I purchased itthere in 1979. Feel free to ask questions or request more photos.
Condition: Never used, this beautiful piece has beenstored in a camphor wood chest since new and has no stains, holes or moth damage.
