Up for sale is a rare porcelain, hand painted, and gilt decorated conjoined quad-triple vase by Royal Worcester. The conjoined bulbous vases feature -- each with a round body -- small gilt-decorated neck at top, and a highly realistically painted bird on a branch on the body of each vase. The piece is marked and dated with the typical Royal Worcester mark dating to the late 19th This is a top quality bird portrait, from the renowned Royal Worcester factory, and features several colorful scenes of an exotic birds amongst the branches and foliage.
Although not signed, there is only one painter of this period that would have produced such a quality piece, and that is the talented John Hopewell, who was considered the best bird painter ever.
