VERY LARGE JICARILLA APACHE INDIAN BASKET BOWL TRAY - EARLY 1900s - 20\" ACROSS For Sale

This is a striking, early turn of the century large Jicarilla Apache basket. It measures 20\" across and approximately 5 3/4\" tall. It looks to be woven with a willow rod base and a sumac weft. The red geometric design has faded some. And, there are some scattered missing or broken stitches on the body of the basket and the bottom underneath edge is missing most of the weft stitches revealing the willow coils. Also, there is some discoloration on the inside of the basket possibly burn marks or stains from native use. However, overall, this very large early basket is in good condition for its age and would be wonderful for display.
