The USS George C. Marshall SSBN-654 was a ballistic missile submarine that served in the United States Navy. It was named after General of the Army George C. Marshall, who served as the U.S. Secretary of State and the U.S. Secretary of Defense. The George C. Marshall was built by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Virginia, with its keel being laid in 1964. It was launched in 1965 and commissioned in 1966, with Commander Warren Richardson Cobean Jr. leading the Blue Crew and Commander Willard Edward Johnson commanding the Gold Crew.

Throughout its career, the George C. Marshall SSBN-654 conducted 78 strategic deterrent patrols and visited various locations, including Faslane Submarine Base in Scotland, Rota Naval Station in Spain, and Weymouth, England. It underwent several overhauls and modifications, including the installation of a Mobile Submarine Simulator decoy system on two of its tubes. The George C. Marshall was decommissioned in 1992 and dismantled through the Nuclear-Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program in 1994. In his speech at the launching ceremony, former U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson described the submarine's role in the Cold War, stating that its existence and capabilities would have a significant impact on the international relations and strategic calculations of the time.
