Made from water proof, nylon rip stop material.These tarps are extremely versatile and as such, are referred to as multipurpose field tarps. They can be used as a rain garment, ground sheet, blanket, sleeping bag cover (bivy cover), or as a hasty shelter/field tent. Additionally, two can be put together to form a 4 person tent. They have proven to be useful time and time again, and have therefore been retained as a standard issue to all military personnel.
This item was obtained via Military surplus directly from a government warehouse. As such, the tarps in this listing have been in some cases stored for extended periods of time.They will show signs of EXTENDED storage which includes but is not limited to dust, minimal dirt. It should be able to pat or wash off very easily. Some of the tarps have lost their bungee cords. This is easily replaceable and will not affect the utility in any way.None of these things affect the utility or functioning of the actual tarp. THESE ARE NEW but government surplus so please do not expect them to be PERFECT.
