USGI MILITARY SURPLUS M1967 COMBAT FIELD PACK BUTTPACK :
$150.00

M1967 COMBAT FIELD PACK (BUTTPACK).

This pack is a second generation M1967 combat pack. It is stamped accordingly inside the front flap. It is post war, not sure of actual manufacture date.

Like the war time examples it has eyelets running on the edge of the flap, and on the two side webbing bars. One eyelet is missing from each sidebar. There are a couple small repairs, storage wear, the rubberized  liner is intact and functional not brittle. It is however old and has been stored a long time with other military surplus so it smells like surplus. Although it is old it is fully functional as a pack, designed to be worn on the pistol belt as a butt pack and supported by suspenders, or attached as a backpack to the M1967 combat field pack suspenders. Original USGI issue item not a reproduction, there is faded stamping inside pack lid. The straps are all there and the loops for the suspender clips have been repaired with  new metal rings has a name scribbled on the flap as is common and some illegible writing on inside pack lid. The military stamping is not completly worn off and in good light you can read it. If you are looking for a period correct M1967 for reenactment, this pack looks as close to a war time original as you're gonna get without spending some big money  or buying foriegn made knock offs.

The huge difference between this pack and a ALICE type is this pack has the grommets in the side web bars, and down the side of the flap to hang equipment using M1910 wire hangers, thus this pack is Stamped "FIELD PACK COMBAT M1967" , the later versions do not have the grommets and typically are stamped as training packs.

the key differences from a original are the material the back webbing bar is made of, the original 1st model has webbing tabs w grommets rather than D rings to attach the suspenders, and webbing tabs w snaps to secure the pack when used as a backpack, this one has the Velcro. The base also has drain holes.
