The Comet Crystal Beach Ontario Canada bolt and nut when dismantled/photos 1989:
$100.00

This metal bolt and nut is a unique piece of memorabilia from "The Comet" roller coaster when it was at Crystal Beach Amusement Park, Ontario, Canada. The bolt was taken when the roller coaster and park were dismantled in 1989. It would be a great addition to any collection. The bolt and nut are an original piece and were not manufactured elsewhere. It features the Comet's distinctive grey color. Crystal Beach was well-known for their amusement park, making this bolt a perfect souvenir for any theme park enthusiast.
Shortly after the park closed, my husband and I visited and took photos (slides) of the Comet as it was being dismantled. I don't have a photo of me holding the bolt in front of or near the Comet but the photos will show that we were there on closing day and shortly after. Also, the Comet had a very distinctive grey color and that is apparent on the bolt. I have two of them but am keeping one for myself at this time. I would imagine that this bolt is extremely rare and might be one-of-a-kind.
Also included are photos shown here - Photo #9 shows Rich Newberg, a local reporter, in front of the Comet on closing day. They were copied from 35mm slides so they are not as clear as the originals.
This September will be the 35th anniversary of the Comet closure in Canada.
It has been stored in a clean, dry area (closet) in a small box.
