This 1/4th-plate daguerreotype case is exceptionally ornate, decorated with embossed images on front and back sides of an unidentified vignette.
Case made by HOLMES, BOOTH, & HAYDENS, with original paper label intact.
Image shows 3 young women, certainly sisters, and possibly triplets.
Case measures 4\" x 4 7/8\" when closed. Latch \"snaps\" closed, and functions perfectly.
Case is sold just as-found, with no cracks, hairlines, hidden damage, or repairs. Case has sharp edges, but there are some very very tiny nicks to corners, as shown.
