TAYLOR INSTRUMENT CO. BAROGRAPH VINTAGE: $209.00
TAYLORINSTRUMENT COMPANY VINTAGE BAROGRAPHThis high-quality barograph is mounted on a mahoganybase (12 3/4\" x 7 1/2\" in greatest dimension) with a mahogany and lateraddition Plexiglas cover (overall height 6 3/4\"), In such barographs oneor more aneroid cells act through a gear or lever train to drive a recordingarm that has at its extreme end either a scribe or a pen. A scribe records onsmoked foil while a pen records on paper using ink, held in a nib. Therecording material is mounted on a cylindrical drum which is rotated slowly byclockwork. Commonly, the drum makes one revolution per day, per week, or permonth and the rotation rate can often be selected by the user.It has vertical numbers of 766 with 4612underneath. Clock diameter is 4” with adrum height of 3 7/8”. The drum cover is missing. The clock works and turn the drum and thebarometer seems to change but I do not have any ink. The clock gear wheel is marked “3764”. It’s difficult to date this barograph butbased on similar items on the web, this may be circa 1950. The cover is a later addition and not part ofthe original barograph.
