WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: an exquisite early century Navajo ring entirely hand-crafted with unique and beautiful silver work, in a stepped setting all three steps different, hand chiseled and filed, with two stamped raindrops at each end and pie crust bezel at the top. There is a thick shank which is chisel split near the face for stability. The stone is a dark green and I\'m not sure what it is though California jade was suggested and also Serpentine seem very likely. I\'m sure it\'s one or the other.Whatever it is, it\'s beautiful. There is elegance to this piece. It has an old patina and I\'d date it to the 1930s. It\'s truly fabulous.
CONDITION: excellent vintage, wearable and collectible.
MEASUREMENTS:
• face size 1-3/8\" x 7/8\"
• ring size 7
• either it is unsigned or that mark on the back is a capital P. I don\'t know the artist, though.
• it\'s sterling silver at .925 or coin at .900 but umarked for silver content
• the stone is either serpentine or California jade
SUMMARY: incredibly beautiful three stepped mounting and all hand made, chiseled and filed, all exquisite, with a pie crust bezel, just gorgeous with two raindrops: one at each end of the mounting. The stone is a dark green in color and I haven\'t been able to identify it with certainty but California jade and serpentine were each suggested and I\'m sure it\'s one or the other. Whatever it is, it\'s beautiful, in this very old piece with great patina. It\'s a terrific collectible.
