Thisremarkable Russian Santa Claus is hand carved and hand painted by the artist in light and dark blues, purples, whites, along with golds and silvers creating this fantastic statuette.The cloak,cap and pack arepainted with gorgeous gold and silver floral or star patterns - Santa has a long flowing beard and is holding a lovely decorated staff or walking stick in one hand and a light blue colored toy sack in the other.Santa\'s cloak, cap,andpack are painted with a number of raised dots of paint that give a raised texture to the painting and the decorations have an iridescent look to them. The high collar on his cloak, the edging, and cuffs of his cloak are painted to look like fur - which of course is needed on those cold Siberian nights!Santa has a sweet, peaceful look on his face and his features are incredibly realistic! This Santa is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved so it will last a lifetime. Linden wood was once used to make drafting boards because it is so stable once it is properly dried.
