This is a CGC book, that is graded, so what you see is really what you get here. I am providing images of the front cover and close up of the STAN LEE AUTOGRAPH SIGNATURE as well as the CGC Signature Series Yellow Label with the certified CGC serial number of the comic book as well as the provenance to the signing with factual and substantiated information on the ACTUAL DATE this was SIGNED BY STAN LEE and witnessed by an authorized CGC witness. The images provided often have obscure glare due to the plastic case or the plastic bag I use to protect the case from finger prints or scratches that I preserve the books in. Comic Books featuring STAN LEE\'s autograph are highly sought after by fans, as Stan Lee is an iconic legend as the founding father of the Marvel Universe as we know it and creator of the majority of the most popular comic book characters, making him equal if not more important to pop culture and entertainment to Walt Disney. If you look at STAN LEE\'s resume of which characters from A to Z that he created and the key grail books he wrote, you\'ll be amazed... Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Iron Man, The Hulk, Doctor Strange, Thor, Black Panther, The X-Men, Daredevil, The Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Black Widow, Hawkeye, The Green Goblin, Loki, Galactus, The Inhumans, Nick Fury, Groot, Captain Marvel, and so many others, both heroes and villains...
CGC is the gold standard when it comes to having Autographed Comic Books as a collectible and investment.
CGC witnesses the actual autograph being signed in person by Stan Lee. So, there\'s no mistake about it, no risk of forgeries.
CGC by nature of their system authenticates the autograph and it\'s then encapsulated into a tamper proof archival quality slab and the provenance of the CGC Signature Series \"Yellow Label\" details the information about the comic book as well as the actual date in which STAN LEE signed the comic book as further substantiation.
CGC also grades the comic book, as a collectible then assigns it a specific serial number and that information is held in their database and is registered with CGC.
So, when others sell STAN LEE autographs, even the ones that are from the Stan Lee Collectibles online/convention store, those can not ever be CGC Signature Series comic books, since the live in-person authorized CGC witness system had not been implemented into the submission. With that, non CGC Signature Series books typically carry less prestige and value due to the fact that they\'re not iron clad authenticated and any of the COA\'s (Certificate of Authenticity) are often seen as hear-say and worth less than the paper the COA\'s are printed on as they often don\'t carry any clout nor have any resale integrity.
The CGC signature series process is quite expensive, starting at a fee of $30 and going up past $100 depending on the comic and service level (speed), on top of the costs of round-trip shipping to submit and receive the book(s) and insurance, plus an invoice fee.
Stan Lee used to charge most recently approx $150-180 per autograph, for conventions and private signings, but no longer made public appearances in the last months of his life for the greater part of 2018 and although was a very prolific signer when he was healthy and younger, has slowed down dramatically in 2017 up until his death on November 12, 2018 at age 95.. On top of that, for CGC Signature Series, if you were fortunate enough to meet him and get his autograph, unless it\'s at a private signing, there is no CGC authorized witness to vouch and certify the autograph\'s authenticity. With that, there has been an increased demand for STAN LEE Signature Series CGC books and the typical valuations starts at $200 for any comic book signed by Stan Lee in any condition, regardless of the value of the actual comic book itself. A certified Stan Lee autograph is valued at $200+ alone. Upon Stan Lee\'s death, the baseline value of his autograph is in the $300-350 range just for his certified and authenticated signature on an item.
Stan Lee was born 12/28/22 and passed away on Monday, 11/12/18 at age 95 years old.
Although there is a huge supply of Stan Lee autographs, the demand outnumbers the supply and will continue to grow as he is a legend whom is an icon, much like deceased Hall of Fame sports athletes whose signed memorabilia continues to rise year after year for generations upon us.
STAN LEE will be remembered no for decades, but for centuries and is a name that will be honored, revered and praised forever. This would make for a great keepsake to hand down to every generation as a family heirloom that retains great investment quality as well.
