DESCRIPTION:The fourth and final book in the wonderful Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston series on Disney animation (following Disney Animation: The Illusion Of Life, Too Funny For Words and Bambi: The Story and The Film) is an “up close and personal look” at 55 of some of Disney’s most entertaining and memorable characters: the “baddies” --- from Peg Leg Pete, Mickey’s earliest nemesis, to Aladdin’s archenemy, the wildly mercurial Jafar.
Covering more than six decades of Disney rogues in 232 pages, lavishly illustrated with some 400+ full color plates, preliminary drawings, storyboards and finished artwork, the two animation legends --- themselves major contributors to some of the most charismatic evil-doers --- provide fascinating insights into the “mal” in Maleficent, the “cruel” in Cruella and how Disney’s approach to villainy changed over the years. A wonderful book by two supremely talented guys, unfortunately no longer with us --- in gift quality, “as new” condition --- made that much more special and valuable with their signatures.
