SENTENNE & GREEN Iron Glass Paper Signs Self Framed tin sign 1897 BOSTON MA :

WOW!!! Here is a fantastic early metal or tin sign company which produced the late 1800's era and early 1900's era signs. Sentenne and Green was similar to Chas Schonk out of Chicago, IL, The Coshocton OH Ohio advertising companies like Meek and Beach, Tuscarora Advertising Company, H.D. Beach, Standard Advertising Company, etc, Tuchfarber out of Cincinnati OH, etc. This sign is embossed, and advertises all of the types of items the company made, whicih include Tin and Metal decorator signs, Iron, Glass, Paper Lithographic signs, show cards, etc. F. A. Gaylord was the General Manager in 1897 when this sign was made. HERALD BUILDING in Boston Massachusetts was their location for this. If you like early self framed tin signs, Reverse on Glass ROG, Embossed Signage, corner advertising signs, or other early signage, here you can get one of the company which made all of those great signs!!! Charles Shonk, Illinois, etc. Spectacular embossing on this one, features a mythological scene with an angel pushing the carriage in the water, a woman playing a musical instrument like a guitar or eukele, etc, not a harp like som any have, an eagle like bird, etc. SAND BLAST EMBOSSED Signs, High Grade only in the yellow moon is denoted. They might have done chipped glass signs too? A great piece nonetheless. The size of the sign is 18 inches x 12.5 inches tall. The sign also has a metal chain for hanging, which appears to be original. the sign has some minor paint loss, discoloration in spots, and has a few bends here and there on it too, mostly towards the right bottom corner area. Not perfect, but it has made it 122 years, so darn good overall. The calendar is missing and has a spot where it used to hang where the holes are above the months. Looks great overall still!Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping with insurance included in this cost. I will ship it very well, such a rare piece of early advertising history from the sign company itself!!
