This is a beautiful and rare early Royal Doulton figurine from the HN series.
Art deco figurine Butterfly HN719, designed by Leslie Harradine, introduced 1925, discontinued 1940.
Height of model is 6 1/2 inches - 16.5 cm.
An outstanding art deco figure, Butterfly, also known as The Butterfly Girl, is wearing a butterfly bodice and pink skirt and she is spreading her cape like butterfly wings; the cape is similarly decorated on the reverse. Beautifully modeled by Leslie Harradine, one of Royal Doulton\'s top designers of the period, whose figures are much sought after today.
Marked on the base with the Royal Doulton Potted by backstamp together with the name Butterfly and the HN number 719. You can also see the initials T.R. which would have been applied by the artist who painted the model. The base is also impressed with the year number for 1926, indicating an early production of this model.
In excellent, undamaged condition with no chips, cracks and no restoration.
