Robeson Pearl Lobster Whittier With Nail File Early 20th Century Unused. Condition is \"Used\". Shipped with USPS First Class.
This attractive whittler in a lobster pattern is unusually pristine for a knife of it’s age. Likely minimally used. Mirror polished and factory edges without evidence of sharpening suggest storage only.
The pearl has unusual depth and iridescence without cracks or chips. The milled brass liners are seen only in the higher end pieces of the day. All blades have strong snaps, including the file, and no wobble. It is 3 in. closed. The nickel silver tip bolsters are of the period and the pins are also nickel silver.
The main is spear point and the minors are pen blade types, all are unblemished, mirror polished and with factory edges.
Robeson was located in Rochester, N. Y., near where I grew up. Their products, were considered “high end” compared to the “other” knife makers of upstate N.Y. This is certainly a good example of their quality workmanship. Smooth and friendly in the hand, a pleasure to have in your pocket.
