This is a very nice, high quality rug, measuring aproximately 2.5' x 3.5'. Very long luxurious mohair (Angora goat) nap on one side, and a tight woolen weave on the other. Could be used or displayed either way. Fringe on two ends- looks hand done. The fringe is longer on one end, shorter on the other. Pictured on a white rope hammock...Could be Turkish or African or ???
*****Someone who is more experienced with this type of item has said they thought it is a Turkish Mohair Siirt Battaniyesi Prayer Rug c1900Whatever the heritage, this is an interesting, well made unique item. Could be used as a wall hanging, runner/dresser top, or a rug as I believe is intended. It is classy, and unique. Hard to believe it is a real antique of 100+ years, but may very well be!
