Rare Vintage Ronson Paragon Advertising Strike Pocket Lighter - Figure 2Figure 2 in the Ronson book by Urban Cummings. First manufactured 1913. Measures 2 1/4" H x 1 1/8" W x 1/2" D. Nickel plating is in good condition, with a few spots of wear which is to be expected for a lighter that's over 100 years old! Advertisement for "J.J. Hockenjos Co". A quick search of the web shows that this business was incorporated in 1901 and that the business "carry always a heavy and choice stock of white lead, paints, oils, varnishes, brushes, window-glass, lamps and chimneys, factory supplies, machinery oils, etc". The company was located in Newark, New Jersey, which makes sense since Ronson was also headquartered in Newark. I am not sure if the company is still in business.
One side of the lighter is stamped "PARAGON, A Model of Perfection, Trade Mark Reg". The other side is stamped "Pat PDG, The Art Metal Works, Newark, N.J.". Original strike wand screws out and in. Missing flint strip.

I ship to addresses in the USA only. FREE USPS Priority Mail SHIPPING. Note that I typically ship within one business day of payment. However, once the package is in the Post Office's possession, I no longer have any control over how fast it gets to you. I had a package that took 19 days to get to me that was mailed from Massachusetts (I'm in Michigan). So please be patient. They all get there eventually.
