Offered for sale is a Victorian flyer from 1896 advertising Dr. Mackenzie's Arsenical Soap, from the United Kingdom. The back is loaded with testimonials. The image is of a dark-haired woman in red.
The soap contained arsenic in "a very small quantity" and was touted as nourishing the skin, whitening the hands and preventing superfluous hairs. Interestingly, arsenical soap's main use was in taxidermy work on birds to help preserve the skin.
