Rare large authentic vintage wicker laundry basket from the Netherlands. Originally used to send to the FRIESLAND LAUNDRY to be cleaned and returned. Friesland is a province of the Netherlands located in the northern part of the country. Basket is circa 1900 - 1940s. Perfect trunk for storing small lap quilts or your vintage linens. Black lettering on the front and sides; original leather binding and strap to keep secured. Bottom has wood slats/runners so that the baskets could be stacked at the laundry. Wicker is in very good condition; no major breaks in the wicker; some wear to the leather strap/buckle. Openings on each side for easy carrying. Measures 24 inches by 16.5 inches; 12 inches tall/deep. Requires a large box for shipping, which is reflected in the shipping charge. Shipped within the USA only.
