Rare Franklin Mint Sword of Excalibur 24K Gold/Sterling Silver Plated in Stone:
$300.00

Acquire and enjoy this rare and exceptional example of the retired Excalibur - Sword in the Stone by the Franklin Mint. This is a limited edition Spanish-made sword originally sold by Franklin Mint. It stands to become the focal point of any wall it adorns. The craftsmanship is simply stunning! The hilt (handle) is gloriously engraved and plated in 24K gold and Sterling silver with 12 red crystal cabochons. The exquisite 24k gold-etched stainless steel blade absolutely glistens.
The sword weighs about 5.5 pounds and is 43 inches long. The blade is 33.75 inches long. The sword is removable from its mounting plaque (plaque size: 51"L x 16.5"W) so you can feel just like the legendary King Arthur himself as you extract it from the crystal-clear rock. The hilt, sword and wall-mountable plaque are in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Legendarily speaking: Excalibur is the mythical sword of King Arthur, sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Great Britain. In surviving accounts of Arthur, there are two originally separate legends about the sword's origin. The first is the "Sword in the Stone" legend, originally appearing in Robert de Boron's poem Merlin, in which Excalibur can only be drawn from the stone by Arthur, the rightful king. The second comes from the later Post-Vulgate Suite du Merlin, which was taken up by Sir Thomas Malory. History taken from “ Excalibur ” Wikipedia.
Original box not included. The sword and plaque will be bubble wrapped and shipped in a 20"W x 8"H x 60L" box to ensure delivery in excellent condition. Also included are the original associated brochures and letters from Franklin Mint (see pictures) including a letter noting the commissioned crafting of this sword which is signed by the President of the International Arthurian Society.
