The hilt (handle) is gloriously engraved and plated in 24K gold and Sterling silver with 12 red crystal cabochons. The exquisite 24k gold-etched stainless steel blade absolutely glistens.
The sword weighs about 5.5 pounds and is 43 inches long. The blade is 33.75 inches long. The sword is removable from its mounting plaque (plaque size: 51"L x 16.5"W) so you can feel just like the legendary King Arthur himself as you extract it from the crystal-clear rock. Legendarily speaking: Excalibur is the mythical sword of King Arthur, sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Great Britain. In surviving accounts of Arthur, there are two originally separate legends about the sword's origin. The first is the "Sword in the Stone" legend, originally appearing in Robert de Boron's poem Merlin, in which Excalibur can only be drawn from the stone by Arthur, the rightful king.
