VERY RARE, Beautiful Wood Antique Cane, Marked "HARVARD 1949, 60th REUNION"
DESCRIPTION:Scans show it all.....Very nice, great looking antique DATED HARVARD REUNION cane. Nicely carved/inscribed on handle is "HARVARD 1949, 60th REUNION". Obviously given to members of a class reunion in 1949. If they were celebrating their 60th reunion, they would have graduated 60 years earlier, IN 1889. And they would have been born around 1868, just after the Civil War. Very old attendees at this reunion!!!
I have never seen a cane like this, with such a history. In excellent condition overall. It will be a great decorator, or a great addition to an antique cane or walking stick collection. Or, obviously a great, EXTREMELY UNUSUAL addition to any collection of items pertaining to Harvard. COULD STILL BE USED AS WELL, AND PROVIDES A GREAT, STYLISH, DAPPER, LOOK!! Would make a great, prized, unusual gift to that Harvard grad, alumnus, student, faculty/administrator, or other supporter.
From my personal collection.A very nice, very unusual cane, and nicely made out of wood. Roughly 35" long, nicely finished, with a very stylish twist in the wooden shaft.
