This is the really hard to find & TRULY RARE 100% authentic "ccc"Civilian Conservation Corps license plate unique toU.S.FEDERAL GOVERNMENTvehicles (e.g. Dept. of Agriculture or Dept. of the Interior). YELLOW PLATE WITH BLACK RAISED LETTERING.
The condition is pretty good, but it certainly shows some wear and tear. You can kinda tell there was a re-paint at some point. The two top corners look like they were repaired with some kind of bondo or something. I cannot say for sure. So it's a little annoying that it's not perfect.
This U.S.Civilian Conservation Corps license plate is original, about 90 years old!!! (circa 1933, probably manufactured in 1932).
Hefty 8" x 14" plate weighsabout 1 LB. Has a really nice paint. Probably is older re-paint job on both sides with a heavy coat of BLACK paint letters look like they were rolled, not brushed, thus no brush strokes in paint.The letters and log are heavy duty stamp pressed into thick plate steel.
Additional info about the CCC: President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 6101 on April 5, 1933 which established the Civilian Conservation Corps that initially offered unmarried men aged 18-23 jobs working in our national forests. It was eventually expanded to men aged 17-28. The CCC operated from 1933 to 1941.
