In a day where the word “unique” is overused, these one-of-a-kind Porky Pig and Daffy Duck ashtrays were reportedly custom made for the arms of the sofa at the Warner Brothers reception office in the 1940’s. Their condition is exceptional, especially since they were in public use. The ashtray parts of them are well used.
They are in used condition, but not broken or restored in any way. I purchased these in 1975 from an sale that also had several items signed by Chuck Jones.
They show the two beloved Warner Brothers characters in their 1940 style. Porky is a little more cute and “piggy” looking, and Daffy is leaner, and a little more mischievous looking.
They are made of metal...sturdier than pot metal and the characters could conceivably be cast iron, but they are smooth. They’re made to last. They are 6”x3-1/2” at the base and Daffy and Porky are about 4-1/2” high.
I have no providence to substantiate the fact that these were at Warner Brothers, but seriously...take a good look at them. They also have a hole in the center where they were presumably mounted to the frame of the sofa.
If you have any information on these, or have ever seen anything like these in your life, I’m open to all comments. For years, I have searched everywhere on the internet for anything on these and have come up empty.
I will be glad to answer any questions you might have about these unique and special items.

That’s all folks!
