Antique Edward VII Commemorative Proclamation Plate. The plate is dated, Jan 24, 1901, Emperor of India. The very top of the plate says, Long Live the King. Emperor of India, Edward VII Proclaimed King Jan. 24 1901. A picture of Queen Alexandra and Edward VII with their respected Flags by their side. The centre of the plate says, Britannia Mourns Her Immortal Queen. The bottom has a picture of Queen Victoria and says,Victoria Bron 1819, Crowned 1838 Died 1901. Edward VII and memorializes the death of Queen Victoria. The plate was made by William Love and is numbered, 336315. Old plate that has some crazing from age and discoloration on the back of the plate. There is also a small chip on the outside rim. At first I thought it was dirt, but sad to say, it is a chip. Vivid colours and lovely shine. . Measures 9 1/2" wide. Perfect Plate for the avid collector of British Royalty also a rare plate. This plate appears to have belonged to an avid collector and thus has his sticker on the back as well.
