EDWARDIAN BRASS LOCKING VESTA CASE

• This is a nice Edwardian brass vesta case with an unusual mechanism on the lid that locks the case shut. The lid is fixed with a bar that goes all the way through and down each side of the vesta case. There is a lever on the top that slides across and releases the lid for opening, slid the opposite way and the lid is fixed closed. The side of the vesta is marked Pat. Oct 1912 and the base has a recessed groove for striking the matches.
• It is in excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere and it measures 35mm (1.3") across and stands 80mm (3") tall.

• PAT. OCT. 3" long x 1 1/2" x 5/8"

CONDITION:

• Good vintage condition with natural patina and signs of use - lever moves and lid opens and closes
